Contrast is often the main character in Yasser Mobarak’s work. It is always present, whether in the colours that compose his images or in the shadows that fall across light-coloured buildings like a curtain. This time, however, the contrast lies in the atmosphere.

In this edition of CairoScene’s Photo of the Week, Yasser Alaa Mobarak shares a photograph he captured at the Birqas Camel Market in Giza. It shows a camel trader in traditional clothes calmly checking his phone, seemingly carefree, while camels rush past behind him.
