Khoshoua El Gohary Unveils Dreamlike ‘Branches’ at TAM Gallery
At TAM Gallery, Egyptian artist Khoshoua El Gohary unveils 'Branches', a meditative exhibition where memory, nature, and abstraction merge through fluid lines, layered colour, and emotion.

At TAM Gallery in District 5, Egyptian artist Khoshoua El Gohary presents 'Branches', a meditative series where memory, nature, and abstraction intertwine through her own language of movement and colour.
Born in Alexandria in 1995, El Gohary graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2018 with a major in Painting. Since then, she has exhibited across Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor, and more recently, gained international exposure when TAM Gallery presented her work in the Generations section of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2025, one of Africa’s most prominent contemporary art events.
Known for her fluid compositions of improvised lines and layered colour, El Gohary’s work draws inspiration from organic forms, natural textures, and childhood memories. “I used to watch my mother and grandmother draw spontaneous lines while talking,” she says. “I began doing the same, letting my hand move freely until the page became a story.”
Through 'Branches', El Gohary explores the relationship between the inner world and the natural one, inspired by places like the White Desert and Gara Cave in Farafra. Her paintings merge personal recollection with dreamlike imagery, calling viewers to interpret and project their own memories. “Every painting is an invitation to awaken the viewer’s memory and imagination so they may find within it an extension of their own experiences and hidden dreams,” she adds.
Branches runs at TAM Gallery, District 5, until October 19th, 2025.
