‘A Matter of Life and Death’ Trailer Drops Ahead of Saudi Release

Front Row Filmed Entertainment has dropped the official trailer for A Matter of Life and Death, the Saudi fantasy romantic comedy first announced at the Red Sea Film Festival last year. The film is set to hit cinemas across the Kingdom on June 25th, before rolling out across the GCC and Egypt in July.

Directed by Anas Ba Tahaf and written by Sarah Taibah, the film is a regional co-production between Cairo-based Film Clinic, Dubai-based Front Row Productions, and Saudi Arabian company Arabia Pictures Group. Taibah and Ba Tahaf have worked together across several projects, with Taibah previously appearing in Fay’s Palette and co-writing the TV series Jameel Jeddan, where she also starred as a young woman waking up from a five-year coma.

In A Matter of Life and Death, Taibah stars as Hayat, a young woman convinced that a generational curse will claim her life on the night of her thirtieth birthday. Her fate collides with Youssef, played by Yagoub Al Farhan, an introverted heart surgeon living with an unusually slow heartbeat.

Together, they are pulled into a story that moves between romance, fantasy, and dark comedy, as they confront questions of life, death, love, fear, and surrender.

Following its world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival, A Matter of Life and Death now arrives with a trailer teasing one of Saudi cinema’s most visually distinctive new releases.
