2oolameme Is Opening an Intimate Game Cafe in North Square Mall
One of the must budding social hubs of Sahel season will be opening its doors on July 13th.
Summer in Sahel typically means alternating between noisy nights out, finding some café to kill time at, or sitting in the comfort of your chalet with a cup of milk tea playing board games. Now that coveted homegrown game brand 2oolameme is popping up all over the North Coast, however, we doubt that’ll remain the narrative this year.
2oolameme’s pop-up game café in North Square Mall is a reaction to the monotonous lull of North Coast activities (or lack thereof), promising to double as the prime birth spot of new friendships. “What we discovered from the first pop-up game café experience is that there’s no way for people to make friends after school and university in Egypt,” founder & CEO Sarah Abouelkhair tells CairoScene. “We wanted to create a space where people could come in alone or with one friend and go out with six.”
To enjoy the games of the 2oolameme universe in the café, you are matched with a group of people in terms of age and general vibe to facilitate as much friend making as possible, cementing 2oolameme as one of the most budding social hubs this season.
The café combines the brand’s full series of card games, an en vogue Instagrammable space, Digs’ snackable treats, Zenzoo’s coveted boba and, above all, a unique immersive experience that calls visitors to connect in a shared space, backdropped by the artistic work of brilliant mind Habiba Saleh.
Following its grand inauguration, the café holds an enticing summer agenda featuring tournaments, trivia nights, themed parties and more, from July 13th until we reluctantly pack our bags and migrate South for the winter.
