Whistleblowers To Be Rewarded For Reporting Unauthorised Endowments
Those reports that result in seizure will carry a maximum value of five percent or SAR 1 million, whichever is lower.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Endowments has announced a new strategy in line with its existing regulations on unauthorised and unknown endowments, with tip offs that result in seizure carrying a maximum value of five percent or SAR 1 million, whichever is lower. The minimum threshold for reporting endowments is SAR 9 million.
These regulations also come with new legislation to protect the rights of potential whistleblowers, aiming to encourage the public to report unauthorised endowments without fear of exposure. Reports must be submitted online, providing proof that endowments do not have correct supervision or oversight. This is the latest project by the Saudi government to streamline interactions between the public and various ministries in the Kingdom.
