Hayy Jameel’s Launches Screenwriting and Acting Workshop Series
Applications for these educational opportunities are due May 10th.
Lights, camera, application. Hayy Jameel is holding an open call for screenwriters and actors to apply to join a new set of workshops. Creatives are invited to pursue three different educational opportunities.
May 17th–18th, writer Hani Ka’ador will hold a screenwriting workshop. Ka’ador is known for having written ‘Alhamour H.A.’ (2023) and ‘Shams Al-Ma’arif’ (2020). He is also known for his work on ‘Takki’, a show that was bought by Netflix.
This workshop series also has something for actors. From May 24th–25th, performers Ismail Al-Hassan and Baraa Alem will deliver a masterclass in acting. These two actors starred in Ka’ador’s film ‘Shams Al-Ma’arif’ (2020), as well as several other titles.
The third workshop, held May 31st–June 1st, in this series is an opportunity for both writers and actors, as director Ali Attalas, whose film ‘And When Do I Sleep?’ (2020) won the Golden Palm at the Saudi Film Festival, delivers insights that help those on both sides of a script understand and work with each other.
Those wishing to attend this workshop series should apply by May 10th at Hayy Jameel’s official website. Hayy Jameel is a cultural centre in Jeddah that is dedicated to fostering local talent and giving Saudi artists a platform.
